Your UPC codes will work in any store, online or off. We should note that WalMart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, FredMeyer, Macy’s and Bloomingdales will require you to purchase a company prefix from GS1-US in order to sell in their retail outlets. This may not be necessary to sell online through these stores, but is still recommended.

What exactly am I purchasing when I buy from you?

When you purchase a code from us, you receive the rights to the specific codes provided to you. However, this does not include the company prefix. If you are selling through an outlet that requires a unique company prefix, you will need to obtain one through GS1-US. If you are unsure, you should review the vendor agreement for your retailer. Most online outlets, including Amazon, eBay, and iTunes, do not require a company prefix.

I scanned my barcode, but my company name doesn’t show up. What do I need to do?

This is because the GS1s GEPIR database has not been updated to show the current owner of the barcode. This will be updated when your product has been uploaded to Amazon, Google Merchant Center, or other databases that your scanner app uses.
